Dry and wet sump engines continue to be different, due to the dry sump engines having a much wider oil pump, which GM had to make the crankshaft longer to accommodate the extra length for dry sump engines. This also makes the timing chain gear on the crankshaft longer as well as using unique harmonic balancer, thus are not interchangeable with wet sump engines.
