Reviving Classics: Brandon Sharp’s Journey to SEMA Success with ICT Billet

The world of hot rods and custom builds thrives on passion, creativity, and grit. For Brandon Sharp, the visionary behind Fleet by SSC, his recent showcase at SEMA epitomized this spirit. With a unique Brazilian C10 truck, countless challenges, and unwavering determination, Brandon turned a dream into reality—and leveraged ICT Billet parts to achieve his dream restoration.

The Brazilian C10: A Tribute to Its Roots

When Brandon stumbled upon the Brazilian C10 truck, it sparked an idea to create a build that honored its history. Unlike the widebody, twin-turbo trend dominating the market, Brandon chose to highlight the truck’s rugged legacy. In Brazil, these C10s served as the “cowboy trucks,” the backbone of farms and ranches from the 1960s to the 1980s.

Initially, Brandon envisioned dropping the truck, adding big wheels, and swapping in an LS engine. But as he learned more about the vehicle’s history, his perspective shifted. Instead of a low-riding custom, he lifted the truck to honor its hardworking heritage—transforming it into a farm-ready machine with impeccable style.

The Build: A Journey of Passion and Perseverance

The road to SEMA was far from smooth. The project came with unique challenges, from sourcing parts to overcoming unforeseen obstacles. Despite being inspired by the American 1960–66 C10s, the Brazilian version had enough differences to turn every upgrade into an engineering puzzle.

Brandon and his team poured countless hours into every detail, from custom leather stitching that reflected Brazil’s gaucho heritage to the vintage-inspired Hilborn injection system. Even with setbacks—like an interior builder backing out days before SEMA and trailer mishaps during transport—the team’s resolve never wavered.

A SEMA Showstopper

The hard work paid off in a big way. At SEMA, Brandon’s truck stood out amidst multi-million-dollar builds, earning accolades and the prestigious AMD & Keviteet award for Best GM Truck. The reception validated his vision of staying true to a vehicle’s roots while adding thoughtful, modern enhancements.

ICT Billet: The Unsung Hero

ICT Billet played a pivotal role in the build. When Brandon decided to switch to Hilborn EFI for his LS1 engine, ICT Billet’s adapters came through, saving him time and money. This collaboration highlighted the company’s commitment to supporting builders and enthusiasts with precision-engineered components.

Meeting the ICT Billet team at SEMA reinforced this bond. Brandon described their Wichita facility as a hub of passion and innovation, where every employee’s dedication to quality shines through. It’s no wonder ICT Billet remains a trusted partner for builders worldwide.

Looking Ahead: New Horizons

Brandon isn’t slowing down. With plans to move into a larger shop and projects lined up for SEMA 2025, including a K5 Blazer collaboration with a legendary American sportswear brand and a special tribute build for America’s 250th anniversary, the future looks bright.

For Brandon, cars are more than machines—they’re metal canvases for artistic expression. His journey reminds us that the heart of the hot rod industry lies in craftsmanship, perseverance, and a shared love for bringing bold ideas to life.
