Gen 5 LT engines used factory low mounted air conditioning compressors with PWM (pulse width modulated) controls which makes them not easy to use in a swap. We recommend to use a Sanden 709 compressor for most swaps due to its high output and reliability. If space is limited then we recommend a Sanden 7176 aka mini compressor. These work well and are very compact.
See the attached guide for the 3 main types of compressors used with Gen V LT engines. These have unique mounting flanges to the engine block. The wiring connectors remain the same across the compressors shown, so you can swap them around, although remember the compressors mount on different sides of the engine block depending on model. The next variable is the belt spacing, which is Corvette, Camaro, and Truck spacing (belt is furtherest from the engine block), meaning that the harmonic balancer pulley (wet sump engines only) must be changed to interchange compressors. Each of these compressors use a 4 rib belt.
